Buckman Real Estate Tour and Neighborhood Info
Buckman is a great close-in SE neighborhood in Portland. Serving as the stepping stone from downtown to the Hawthorne and Belmont areas Buckman has a diverse range of real estate. Closer to the river is an industrial area that is in the process of turning into a cultural district. Several of the old storage warehouses have been converted to artist lofts and other creative work spaces. The east side of the neighborhood has a similar feeling to much of SE Portland with trees lining the streets and graceful bungalows and craftsman homes lining the streets. There are great restaurants and shops throughout Buckman, the food carts on Hawethorne and SE 12th are great – try the Poutine from the Potato Champion cart.
